Painswick go try crazy

PAINSWICK recorded an emphatic victory against Longlevens on Saturday scoring seven tries in the process.

Painswick soon got into their stride with forwards and backs combining well and it came as no surprise when winger James Wynn went over for the first try after 10 minutes, Will Leicester added the conversion.

Minutes later left-wing Phil Higgins rounded the Longlevens full-back to score under the posts, Leicester added the extras.

Next to score was Eddie Bressington who forced his way over from close range.

With half-time approaching centre Lawrence Drew scored Painswick's fourth try, with Leicester adding the conversion to give them a 26-0 lead at the interval. In the second half Longlevens put Painswick under some pressure but they came up against a rock-solid defence and were pushed back time and again.

For Painswick second-row Russell Thornton, Drew and Leicester scored tries in the second half, with only one being converted to complete the scoring.

This was a good team performance from Painswick, who are now playing with renewed confidence.
